The biggest mistake they made here was not stretching the fight scenes as much as possible. What he finds is a struggle of life and death tied in to his own past. I usually destroy van damme movies in my reviews, but strangely enough this film by Albert Pyun is a classic and deserves recognition. He makes 3 friends and they watch each other's backs. The acting was fair and the characters were much more meaningful than the weak and lifeless characters I see in today's films which are utterly boring and fake. Die Macho-Riten zwischen Sado-Maso-Elementen des vorliegenden, nicht besonders aufwendig realisierten Films machen Figuren wie "Mad Max" im direkten Vergleich mit Slinger Gibson zu Waisenknaben. I've always liked the movies Van Damme starred in around this period (esp Cyborg and Kickboxer) and I'll never forget this haunting, weirdly emotional, and violent movie. I really liked this movie. the best part of the soundtrack is when they're running away from the Fender gang and they get to the water, i like the punching bass part on that, even the music matches when they kick and use their weapons, it's pretty good.
