3 I absolutely loved the original anime from 20 years ago, and while this series is probably meant to follow the 3 movies that have come out more recently, it feels like the season 2 I have been waiting 2 decades for. Firstly if you haven't seen the original Berserk anime from 1997 or haven't read the manga do not start this series. I mean, it always had splatter and violence, but at least the Golden Age arc was very focused on the relationship of the main trio.

Berserk - The golden age Arc (2012–2013) which consisted of three movies were more of an alternate version of the '97 season. However, the animation is very unpolished compared to the movies.
