We do miss the side-scrolling Abe we loved so much so many years ago. Much of the co-operation simply amounts to opening doors for one another and having Abe ferry Munch around the levels. It's just part and parcel with the awkward feel of the whole thing. The Switch has more inputs than an original Xbox controller, so why not make use of them? It may not have been the series’ strongest offering, but a 3/10 is severe.
The connector Munch’s head becomes like a multi-purpose tool. Good old Abe is up to his tricks again, rescuing his fellow Mudokons. This isn't some vintage arcade title, it's a disappointing follow-up to a beloved PlayStation blockbuster. This review seems to weight the games shortcomings a tad heavily. Even tho it’s not polished, some of the mechanics were really cool. LOL there was a good amount of kids that were betting it wouldn't catch on. I prefer this game to Stranger's Wrath. The eagerly-awaited second game in the Oddworld Quintology, Xbox launch title Of course, hindsight shows that in a business as malleable as video games, you probably shouldn't make such big promises, and of course, the Oddworld series went off the intended path with games like For the first time, Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath had escaped the confines of the Xbox. The game has so much humour and not just in the cutscenes, the animations the way the different characters interact and behave. Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee : Final Verdict. You’d be surprised how difficult it can be not to fall off cliffs and platforms in some areas. Maybe this is why.This is the most unkind score that I have seen for this game. Nowadays however, we have access to much more refined hardware and better game engines in which to create more competent and enjoyable gameplay experiences. In summary, the Switch port of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee performs much better than previous platforms. Crappy or not I’m getting it for nostalgiaI love this game. Your positioning is so finicky sometimes you'll need to physically move objects away from other objects, lest the game has no idea what on earth you're trying to do.Generally, there are too many commands applied to too few buttons, which raises the question of why the Gamespeak system doesn't use a modifier like in the Abe games – such as holding L1 or L2 then pushing a button to select the phrase. Can't deny that it is the lesser of the series though. Now, you’ll have separate commands for simply pressing a button or holding it in. It made me feel slightly nauseous a few times when I kept having to swing the camera around to see the surrounding area.The sound design is decent enough; the music fits well with the tone and feel of the game, and the vocal performances were serviceable.
